Data Analyst Developer

For the past 10 years, we’ve been developing Mendel – a solution for network traffic analysis and monitoring that helps organizations protect themselves against cyber threats. Mendel collects and analyzes massive amounts of network flow data to reveal what’s really happening in the network — from normal operations to suspicious activity.

Every day, Mendel processes terabytes of data and analyzes millions of records per minute, extracting key patterns, anomalies, and relationships. Thanks to this, we can show our customers what’s happening in their networks.

Who we’re looking for – and why

This year, our goal is to strengthen Mendel’s detection capabilities. One of our key topics is device identification based on network flow data. That’s why we’re looking for a developer who enjoys working with databases and data. Someone who doesn’t shy away from complex challenges and gets satisfaction from figuring out how to extract the most value from data. You won’t just “move data from point A to point B.”

We’re looking for someone who can design efficient ways to transform, process, and interpret data — even at a very large scale.

What you’ll do

  • Develop processing and analysis of large volumes of network data, looking for patterns, anomalies, and correlations
  • Transform and prepare data for further detection and analytical processes
  • Design detection techniques
  • Develop and test detectors
  • Find your own way to reach the goal — you’ll get direction and context, but the solution is up to you

Work with full freedom when it comes to analysis — you can use any tools or approaches that make sense. (Just note: final implementation is always our own — e.g., we don’t use Power BI.)

Collaborate in a small, four-person team of people who understand both software development and data. We use Scrum for planning and managing our work.

Our tech stack
  • PostgreSQL 17
  • Java SE 21

What you’ll need

  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and Java SE – you’ll use both daily
  • Experience working with large data volumes – from analysis to designing algorithms and transformations
  • Analytical thinking – you can break complex problems into smaller pieces and find patterns in data
  • Independence and collaboration skills – you know when to ask for advice and when to focus deeply
  • Experience with network traffic or cybersecurity is a plus (but not required) – it’ll just help you get up to speed faster with our product.

What you can look forward to

  • 5 weeks of vacation + 4 sick days – when you’re not feeling great, no guilt trips.
  • Flexible working hours and remote work options
  • Annual bonus – we reward each other based on company performance.
  • Education budget – courses, books, conferences that matter to you.
  • Multisport card contribution – to stretch your back after sitting all day.
  • Meal allowance, company laptop, and phone plan.
  • English lessons – tailored to your level, individually or in groups.
  • Team events – sometimes board games, sometimes BBQ, sometimes just a beer trip.
