Ten years is long enough. Long enough for the market to test your claims, for threats to outpace your assumptions, and for the work to speak for itself.
In 2016, eight people started GREYCORTEX with one conviction that technical excellence built in Brno could protect organizations anywhere in the world. We wanted to prove it on the global stage, and we refused to give up when things got hard. Ten years later, we are present in 27 markets, recognized by Gartner and Forrester among the global players in network detection and response, and trusted by organizations where security is not optional. That position was not handed to us. We earned it, one deployment, one customer, one difficult year at a time.
The Values That Define Us
The first ten years were not built on one decision or one breakthrough. They were built on how the whole company approached the work, every day, and still does.
When a real challenge arrives, whether from a customer, a partner, or a deployment that needs attention, the right people get involved. It is not a formal process. It is simply how things get done here. Feedback from the field shapes the product, questions from support reach development, and the people building GREYCORTEX Mendel and the people watching it run in real environments stay close to each other.
Everyone at GREYCORTEX understands the significance of their work. Mendel runs in hospitals, government institutions, industrial environments, and critical infrastructure. These are not abstract use cases. They are real environments where security failures have real consequences. That awareness carries into every decision, every release, and every moment a customer or partner needs help. We show up, not because a contract requires it, but because we understand the importance of what we do and the impact of our solution.
That commitment runs into the product itself. Radek, our CXO puts it plainly: when our product runs somewhere, it is our commitment, not an SLA. It is not a policy or a promise made in a sales meeting. It is simply how everyone here thinks about the work.
The Moments That Shaped Us
Growth rarely happens the way you plan it, and the moments that shaped GREYCORTEX most were rarely the ones we saw coming.
One of the hardest periods came when COVID arrived. We were in the middle of building a strong market presence in Japan. Japan’s market runs on personal relationships and physical presence, and overnight that stopped. The plans we had built for that market collapsed, and we stood at a decision point that every growing company eventually faces: cut to survive, or hold together and find another way. Every number pointed toward cutting, but we chose differently. No salaries were reduced, no one was let go. Our management took that risk, knowing it could go further than the company could absorb. It did not. When the world began to open again, we restarted and moved forward. That period showed us not only that the company could survive financial pressure, but that its foundations were strong enough to carry real uncertainty.
The technical tests came in different forms. Pavel, our CTO, remembers one of the earliest challenges we faced: a large deployment at a state institution across nearly twenty remote locations that pushed our system past what it had been designed to handle. But the team was determined to find a solution, and they redesigned the core module in a month to make the deployment possible. That same architecture has supported some of our largest deployments since, continuously pushing the boundaries of what it can do.
And through all of it, the spirit that started in a few small rooms in Brno never quite left. As Michal, our AI team lead puts it: from the pure punk of the early days, we have grown into a company that is more structured, more stable, and still growing. But a little of that punk, he says, should always stay. It is that same spirit that keeps us moving forward, refusing to give up until we find the solution, and pushing the boundaries of what we believe is possible.
The Next Chapter
Ten years in, we have established ourselves as a strong regional cybersecurity leader. That is not the finish line. It is the foundation for what we are building toward.
Petr, our CEO, puts it clearly: we never founded GREYCORTEX just for the Czech Republic. We founded it for the world, because cybersecurity is a global problem, and our ambition has always been to protect organizations wherever they operate.
Today, the convergence of traditional IT networks and industrial environments is where much of the most critical infrastructure sits. That is where we continue to deepen our expertise, following what our customers actually need. That is the next chapter: earning our place as the leading name in network security across Europe, and from there, the world.
Pavel, our Pre-Sales Engineer, who joined GREYCORTEX recently and already knows the product in depth. He speaks about the next chapter with the kind of excitement that is hard to fake. He sees where GREYCORTEX Mendel can go, the directions it has not fully explored yet, and he is here because he wants to push it further. That energy is not unique to him. It is what keeps arriving with new people, and it is what keeps GREYCORTEX moving forward.
We started with one conviction and ten years of hard work to back it up. The next ten start now.
