Junior Cyber Security Consultant
Do you want to start your career in cybersecurity where you’ll work with real networks, real customers and real attacks? Here you won’t learn on practice scenarios – you’ll learn hands-on, alongside experienced colleagues who will guide you every step of the way.
Every deployment reveals a different security story. Your job will be to help uncover it – and, over time, to become the person who can tell it on their own.
Who are we
We develop a Network Detection & Response solution GREYCORTEX Mendel that helps organizations detect attacks before they cause damage. Our technology protects the networks of banks, hospitals, manufacturing companies and critical infrastructure. We work where cybersecurity isn’t just compliance, but an essential part of operations.
What you will do
You’ll join our presales team as a junior and learn the craft from experienced colleagues. In the beginning you’ll support senior consultants in preparing and executing technical projects for customers – especially Proof of Concept (POC) deployments. Over time you’ll take on more independent work and a growing share of your own responsibility.
Specifically, you will:
- Get to know Mendel in depth – learn how Network Detection & Response works, what it can detect in a network, and which blind spots it helps eliminate compared to traditional security tools.
- Help with test deployments (POCs) – collect and organize technical inputs, keep track of administrative steps (IP addresses, interfaces, configurations) and verify that the system correctly collects data and runs as it should after installation.
- Prepare analyses and reports – process initial outputs from POC projects, conduct basic analysis of operational and security data according to established methodology, and prepare materials for final reports.
- Take part in presentations – participate in selected customer presentations, demonstrate basic Mendel functionality (introductory demos and product overviews) and provide technical support to senior colleagues at conferences and workshops.
- Build the knowledge base – record answers to common technical questions and prepare the technical sections of standardized reports.
Who are we looking for
We’re looking for someone with a technical foundation and, above all, a strong drive to grow fast. We don’t expect a finished expert – we expect curiosity, the ability to learn at pace, and the courage to stand in front of a customer and explain things clearly.
What you should know / have:
- Communication and presentation skills – this is key for us. We’re looking for someone who can explain a technical topic clearly, lead an expert discussion and deliver a standalone technical presentation. We value high-level thinking and the ability to see things in context more than an obsession with detail.
- Technical education – ideally a university degree in electrical engineering, informatics or a related technical field.
- Networking fundamentals – a solid grasp of TCP/IP, the difference between TCP and UDP, and the purpose of core protocols (DNS, HTTP(S), SMTP). Cisco Academy or equivalent is a plus. We’ll teach you detailed traffic analysis.
- Cybersecurity awareness – familiarity with security standards (ISO 27000 series, BS 17799), secure communication and best practices at a graduate level.
- Cryptography basics – an understanding of how cryptography works and where it’s applied in real protocols (e.g. TLS).
- Fast learning at a high tempo – the motivation to grow from a technical background into a consulting role.
Why GREYCORTEX
Because here you won’t see cybersecurity only in theory. You’ll work with real networks, real data and the genuine security challenges of organizations that rely on us.
As a junior you won’t be left on your own – you’ll have an experienced team by your side to help you get up to speed quickly and teach you things you won’t find in any textbook. And because we’re a technology company with our own product, your ideas and experience can directly shape where the product and the whole team go next.
What we offer
- Work on a product with real impact – you’ll be part of a team building its own security technology.
- Room for your own initiative – here you’re not just executing tasks. Your ideas can influence how the product and the team grow.
- Contact with real security incidents and data.
- 5 weeks of vacation + 4 sick days for plenty of time to rest.
- Flexible working hours – results matter, not hours logged.
- Support for professional growth – training, conferences and further education based on where you want to develop.
- Quarterly team bonuses based on shared results.
- English lessons individually or in a group.
- Standard work equipment – a laptop, a phone with a plan and a meal allowance.
- A contribution toward a Multisport card and shared company activities – from board games and barbecues to events outside the office.
